PARTNER CLASSES

Exhale to Inhale’s work is possible in large part because of the partnerships we have with agencies, shelters, community centers, universities, and hospitals. Our partners help us bring our yoga classes to survivors and the staff who serve them.

Learn more about bringing Exhale to Inhale’s trauma-informed yoga classes to your staff and clients by connecting with us. Yoga can be a therapeutic tool for us all and through Exhale to Inhale’s practice, we can reconnect to and bolster inner strength as we continue to cope with the long-lasting impacts of trauma, compassion fatigue, and or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

If you’re interested in bringing our services to your organization please email partnerships@exhaletoinhale.org.

We're grateful to all our partners for prioritizing wellness for their clients and staff. We are honored to work alongside your organizations in support of your missions and serve survivors and communities at large:

FAQs

  • Absolutely, our practice meets students where they are. You do not have to be flexible to try our practice, and we welcome all students no matter how much yoga you have done in the past.

  • Yes! Some of our pregnant students have shared that they enjoy yoga. You can join in and feel free to take a break if you need or want. It is recommended that people who are pregnant refrain from deep twisting and laying on the belly. We invite you to skip those parts of the practice and take care of yourself! The chair yoga classes may be a great place to start.

  • A yoga mat is not required. If you do have one, you are welcome to use it. You can also use a towel or blanket to cover the floor.

  • You can practice yoga in whatever is most comfortable for you. Skirts can sometimes be tricky, but we will make it work.

  • This class is designed for adults and not designed with kids in mind. We hope this time is for you to take a break so that you can have a moment to yourself! In realizing that we are all working and schooling from home these days, we are happy for your kids to be present and follow along while you practice.

  • Please feel free to join whenever you can. We want you to practice! :) Please just make sure your mic is muted when you arrive.

  • No, you do not have to be on camera when practicing live on zoom. While we do like to say hello and see you, it is not necessary to be on camera.

  • To assure these spaces are safe and comfortable for all who attend, we do not record these classes. However, if you sign up and are not able to make it, please email us at partnerships@exhaletoinhale.org and we will be happy to send you a recording for a previously recorded class using the same theme.

  • Each class begins with a short centering and introduction to the weekly theme. Then we move into physical warm-ups and yoga shapes. Class always ends with a cool down and time for meditation and relaxation. The teacher begins or ends with a special quote as well!

  • No, although our methodology is based on current trauma informed mental health standards, we do not include any discussion or processing in our classes. Instead we engage with healing and supporting mental health through embodied mind-body movement practices.

  • This style of yoga does not offer headstands and handstands. We aim to keep it simple so that anyone can attend.

  • We always offer options. We also keep the practice simple so that anyone can practice. Some of our students have never practiced yoga before, while others have taken several classes.

  • Exhale to Inhale yoga classes do not play music. However you are welcome to keep yourself muted and play your own background music at home if you prefer

  • At Exhale to Inhale we believe that slow is fast & less is more! Teachers take their time to move from shape to shape so that students of all levels can practice being in the present moment and make choices that are best for them. You are welcome to add on or take away (hold the shapes longer, repeat a shape you found challenging) to the practice if you like!

  • Feeling a lot during a yoga practice is totally normal! You are more than welcome to stop practicing or take a break at any time. It may be helpful to reorient to your space - noticing the different colors, objects and sounds, etc. Having water nearby to drink when you need to take a break can also be helpful.

  • The 12 themes are connection, anchoring, experience, restoration, empowerment, and resilience, intention, mindfulness, self-acceptance, curiosity, courage, and worthiness.

  • No, you can practice our classes on any device that supports the zoom application (computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone).
