Why This Work Matters

Using the tools of mindfulness, movement, and breathing, Exhale to Inhale has developed an innovative and effective way to reduce the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and support long-term healing.

YOGA & TRAUMA

Trauma is not only an event but an experience held in the body. If we’re not in tune with what our bodies are telling us, we miss part of the healing process.

Exhale to Inhale connects trauma, mind and body, mindfulness and breath, all together. Our practice is self-empowering and allows you to reconnect to your body, calm your nervous system, and decrease your levels of anxiety. Most importantly this practice is portable—you can take it with you wherever you go.

This practice can provide a critical tool for healing—allowing you to feel strong and safe in your body; reclaim your power; reconnect to yourself; gain physical and emotional strength; and support healthy life choices.

A THERAPEUTIC TOOL FOR SURVIVORS

In addition to what research has already shown, Exhale to Inhale has conducted its own survey in partnership with the New School for Social Research. We measured stress, bodily pain, and sense of agency before and after an Exhale to Inhale Class. The data shows that students feel a statistically significant improvement across each wellness measurement.
